From the historic centre of Bormio to the heart of the Stelvio National Park
Spending a holiday in Bormio means abandoning yourself totally to relaxation: listening to nature, its sounds and scents, all year round. And there is nothing more beautiful than to witness the change, to get to know Bormio either snow-covered or completely covered in the bright colours of summer.
The good season is coming, so to stay by your side and let you dream a little, we dedicate you a little virtual tour of the wonders that surround us, so that as soon as you can, you will already have your itinerary to follow.
What to see in Bormio
The valley of Bormio is full of surprises. Strolling through the centre, you can already admire the suggestive medieval views and the town's main square. Starting right from Piazza del Kuerc, you can admire the churches of SS. Gervasio and Protasio and the beautiful and imposing Torre delle Ore. A complex of ancient buildings surrounds the square; among the most famous is the old town hall and, on part of the façade, some very beautiful frescoes depicting an ibex, a man with a spear, a bear and the white cross symbol of the municipality of Bormio.
Entering the trails, however, reveals wonderful places. Whether on foot or by bicycle, preferably mountain bike, it is possible to venture into the surrounding forests and valleys. Many trails are suitable for everyone, even families with children. For a nice hike, we recommend various routes, such as the Cancano Lake Tour or exploring the Stelvio National Park.
Regarding the Lakes Tour, everyone can try it. Simply hop on a mountain bike (or even an e-bike) and set off to explore the lakes. Going all the way to the top gives you a wonderful view, the bright blue lakes will appear between the Fraele Towers. A unique feeling.
The Stelvio National Park is an enchanted place. You can also choose to rely on an expert guide to discover all the secrets of the park. You will find yourself admiring an astonishing nature, full of impressive trees, flowers and expanses of greenery. You will surely find edelweiss and rhododendron, protected species that must not be picked. If you are lucky, you will also be able to meet the animals that live in the park.
